Laser hair removal targets the (pigment) in your hair. The laser light is absorbed and converted into heat to disable the hair follicle, but only when the hair is in its active growth phase (anagen stage). That’s why multiple sessions are to catch each hair in its growth stage.

Laser uses a single, concentrated of light designed to precisely target the melanin (pigment) within the hair follicle. In contrast, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) devices emit a broad spectrum of light wavelengths, similar to a flashlamp. The rest can be absorbed by surrounding tissue, increasing the risk of surface heating and changes, particularly for darker skin tones.
While IPL can be beneficial for certain skin rejuvenation treatments (such as reducing pigmentation, redness, or broken capillaries), it is not as precise or powerful as laser technology when it comes to permanent hair reduction.

Most clients describe the sensation as a light snap or flick, similar to an elastic band. The built-in cooling system and professional technique make treatments highly tolerable, even on sensitive areas. For those that are accustomed to waxing, they feel it is far less painful than waxing. We will perform a patch test before performing a full treatment, so you will experience the sensation before committing to the full course of treatments.
Laser hair is safe for most skin tones, including darker complexions. The treatment works best on hair with pigment (brown to black). Very light blonde, red, or grey hair will not respond effectively due to lack of pigment.
We advise avoiding recent sun exposure or fake tan before treatment. Tanned skin can increase the risk of pigmentation changes and effects. Your practitioner will recommend when it’s safe to resume sessions after tanning. We take the safety of our clients very seriously so please always be honest as this is to protect the safety of your skin.
Laser hair may not be suitable if you’re pregnant, taking photosensitive medication, have an active skin condition, or have used Roaccutane (Isotretinoin) within the past 6–12 months. We’ll discuss your medical history in full during your consultation.
